when do you think [8GB DDR3 PC10600] will come down in price?

Why are the new 8GB RAM sticks so expensive? And is it a coincidence that this RAM is out about the same time as all these new Macs? Hopefully by the time I get into a situation where I'll need the 16GB for my audio work the RAM would've come down ALOT.

They are indeed expensive ($880 for 8x2) but those at OWC have dropped in price by almost half since March according to Lloyd at macperformanceguide.com so patience pays off.

Assuming you are talking about SO-DIMMs for notebooks/iMacs - they aren't going to have the same $ per GB ratio as other DIMMs for a long time - if ever. Such capacities are in very small demand.

But if you think that you need so much memory you might need to question a bit if your machine is suitable to your needs at the moment..

In the past, whenever a higher capacity one is available it will start the biggest price drop.
