Hey guys.

When does everyone think the MacBooks will be updated with Santa Rosa. I know they were recently updated, but you think before like October (Leopard's release)?

Also, this isn't really as important to me and may be a little farfetched but does anyone think the MacBook will ever get dedicated video? My reason for speculation is because, though it was a small sized card, the iBook had dedicated video. I mean, now that Intel is in the Mac, Intel Integrated is an option but...I dunno. I'd like to see dedicated video sometime in the future.

Alright, thanks, everyone. :)

There may be a new revision of Macbooks due out in the next few weeks. That article suggests there may even be 15" Macbooks released.

I guess we'll find out in the next few weeks...

a $1699 15" MB would be a good selling point i think, theres nothing between the low end macbooks at $1499 and the $2000 mbp

thats whats nice about the mac minis to the imacs to the mac pro thers a system every 100 bucks or so

Actually $1,699 USD was the price point of the 12" PB back in the day. My hope is that this price point will actually be used on the portable MBP instead...

@droo94: That would be my hope as well, but the BlackBook seems to be meant to replace the 12" PowerBook. :(

There are tons of threads in this forum related to future product speculation. The fact of the matter is that no one knows what is coming down the Apple product pipeline but Apple. They could come out with a SR MacBook tomorrow, maybe October, maybe January. Exact same thing with the dedicated video - only Apple knows what they are doing.

In my first post about a week ago I asked about selling my PB 12" for a MacBook sometime around October. But the more I've thought about it I'm more inclined to hang on to it for a while longer unless and until Apple releases a 12" or 13" MBP. Perhaps I'll be waiting forever, who knows...

I'm sure it's been mentioned before on these forums, but if MBs get the 13" LED, SR chip, and dedicated GPU then there's even less differentiation from the MBP line -- plus the MB still has the added perks of the user-replaceable HD and the mag-latch.

But as the previous poster said, only Apple knows for sure but I know I'll be interested to see what develops.

Thanks for stating the obvious. What I say next will also be stating the obvious, but your statement requires such a response.
Everyone in this forum knows that "only Apple knows". That is why this is Mac"Rumors." Those who are here find it fun to speculate. That's what the OP in this thread called for.

Exactly. I was just looking to hear a few educated guesses.

Unfortunately, all you seem to get are uneducated guesses. The problem with posting something of this nature here, is that because Apple is so tight-lipped, people posting anything here are either basing it on nothing, or something close to nothing. I can post my guesses, you can post your guesses, but if people don't post anything to back it up (and some people fortunately enough do back it up), then there is seemingly no point. People look at the Intel roadmaps and certainly it is the case that Apple products will be coming out to correspond with them, but that's as close as anyone gets unless there is an internal information leak.
