How many weeks does Apple send invitations or announce an event prior to one in the past?

Many people have predicted September, but there still has been no announcement of one.

Invites are sent no more than a week prior to an event. At least, it's been that way since 2007 (excluding WWDC in June).

I bet there will be one within the next couple of weeks. I think they usually announce send an invite in the beginning of the week. Probably nothing next week because of the holiday, but the week after we could see one. Here's my prediction, Send invite on September 12th, Announce phone and IOS 5 release on September 20th, IOS 5 launches on October 3rd, and iPhone 4S or 5 launches on October 7th.
