my MacBook Pro that I bought 5 days ago has told me that it has a low battery (it's been on all day) it has 17% left and says that it has 1:55 left of battery. What percent of battery will it shut down at (I did not modify the settings at all)

did your MBP come with a user manual?

i'd look it up for you but i dont have my manual handy. IIRC, it's 5%.

On your mainscreen, do a right mouse click on the portion with a picture of a battery and either percentage or time listing, then click 'Energy Saver Preferences' (OR you can open 'Settings' and then click 'Energy Saver Preferences', and you will see where it is set. It also allows you to adjust it yourself and the factory default levels can also be restored by the click of a button.

i think you misread the post. the TS wants to know at percentage does the meter read before the computer shuts itself down due to low battery.
