As we all know, the 5s is coming out on Friday. Friday will be full of lines, sold out stores, 2-3 week delays in shipping, etc etc. I was wondering, how long does it take for the "new phone hype" to go away? For those who don't understand what I mean, if you went into a AT&T store in February, you'll have no problem getting the latest iPhone out w/out having to camp out or worry. How long does it usually take for the new iPhone craze to go away and us "regular consumers" to be able to walk in the store and buy the iPhone 5s without worrying about it being sold out or lines? October, November, Christmas?

I ordered my iphone 5 on Saturday September 15th last year, a day after the preorder started and received on October 1st. Over 2 million were pre ordered the first 24 hours, and yet I got mine in 2 weeks, even after ordering beyond that initial 24 hour window. I don't expect it to be any worse since the 5c will likely take some sales away from the 5s.

There will be a big demand surge that will die down in early November and ramp up again in December. By the end of January everything should be normal.
