I noticed about half the time it doesn't vibrate for me either. The screen doesn't turn on or anything. I just wake it from sleep and it shows me a text that's been there for a couple of minutes. Occasionally I look at my phone and I have a missed call and I totally didn't feel my phone vibrate.

I'm assuming it's an iOS 4 bug.

Bluetooth?

I noticed this happens when my IP4 is connected to my in car bluetooth.

has anyone had this issue? is this rare? defective phone?

Not on phone call either

I have my iPhone set to ring (harp) and vibrate when a call comes in - it rings but never vibrates. It used to vibrate so i don't think it's the phone. Must be something in the software. I have a 3GS.

happened to me again after i did the update to 4.1

its fine after you reset the phone.... but its getting annoying. does anyone out there know of anyway to fix this once and for all?

lol... already tried that.

apple tech seemed clueless. kept saying he hasnt heard of it. also said not to silence phone with side button... and that it has glitches.

im just thinking i might have a defective phone.

Ha.. Apple techs piss me off so much sometime.

A buddy and I made a trek last week to the nearest Apple Store. His 2 year old Macbook Pro's battery had literally swelled to the point where it had separated the main case and it would launch and shoot out when he unlocked it from the chassis.

The Apple tech told him "Oh, that's pretty normal, but we'll replace it for free anyway". I was standing a few feet away playing on an iMac and I almost fell over from shock that the guy would actually say that was normal.
