I was wondering where the AVP was, when I went into my local Apple Store yesterday.

The Specialist said as per the title of this thread.

I suppose it makes sense, but it doesn’t actually scream of confidence.

I personally have no interest in buying one, but I follow all tech related stuff, so it interests me.

Makes you think, though.

That’s just speculation from a retail employee.

With a MAXIMUM ability to manufacture 500,000 this year there’s no way to support an international launch.

Sony isn’t interested in expanding that line, so Apple is currently testing production runs from LG and another display maker. That takes time, if they can pass the QC tests.

The US is the native, home market for Apple. New products always get launched their first don't they?

Limited manufacturing capability and different legislations around prescription lenses will also impact the rollout plan for this new device. But its not been launched in the US to test for issues, its just that's the first country to get it and the rest of the world will follow with this exact same hardware.
