when i try to sync the iphone my pc shuts down!!!

hi,
i have an 8gb 3G iphone (jailbroken).
my problem is that when i try to sync my phone then my pc then automatically a message says that an unidentified device is connected to the pc and shuts down the computer.

at first i thought that there was something wrong with the cable. but that cant be because i use the same cable to sync my ipod touch and i have no problems with that.

if anyone came up with this problem and solved it or have any idea on how i will deal with this i would definitely need their help.

It’s a driver/USB issue. I had this happen with my XP a long time ago. I searched and searched for a fix, but finally just went to a previous system restore point I think to fix it. You could also try reinstalling iTunes or use a USB off the MOBO.
