When (If?) the iPhone 6 comes, what is the best way to order it?

As a put in another thread, I recently was screwed out of an iPhone 5S on Craigslist (bad IMEI). While it sucks, the blessing in disguise is that now I get to pick up an iPhone 6 (I actually sold the blacklisted phone internationally for quite a bit of $$$).

I'm on T-Mobile's $30 data (and a little voice) plan - which iPhone is best? Just the unlocked iPhone 6 that perceptibly will be available online?

You can order from Apple or T-Mo when they start accepting orders.

Usually the unlocked new iphone are available via apple.com a few weeks after launch.

I would say, wait to purchase through an Apple Store on day 1 so you can open the box right there and then and see what new _____-gates are upon us.
