Google has gave me mixed answers

New iPad owner want to try multi gestures :)

I have these gestures, just download Xcode from Mac App Store. Announcement wlll most likely be made on the 6th a WWDC.

Unlike previous OS releases, there's been no early preview and no giving to developers to test their apps with.
So either dev's will need time, or Apple are confident that they can release without developer previews, anymore. I'm going with the former.

they will most likely preview it at WWDC, but it won't be available for everyone at least a week and a half. It is always available to the developers earlier for obvious reasons. Anyway, I hope that it comes out soon. I can't wait.

I have no clue when it will come out, but if I had to bet, I would say by the end of October. Maybe for the iPhone a bit earlier, but the iPad will have to wait a bit more.
If Apple makes iOS 5 available in the next couple of weeks, I would be very much surprised.

I think it's extremely unlikely to be in the next couple of weeks. If they released it that fast, you could hear the sound of a thousands of developers all screaming at once half-way round the world.. and they're announcing iOS5 next week at the developer conference! If this happens, Jobs might not get out alive ;)

More likely, they'll preview it next week, and give us developers a beta. Then, a few more betas, and a final release alongside the iphone 5/4S/whatever it's called. The phone update is rumoured for september, so I'll go with that.

Probably iOS 5 beta 1 for developers that day, and perhaps iOS 4.4 on the day, or the following Friday (10th) which contains iCloud compatiblity....here's hoping!

somewhere in october

i searched on Google and the most recurring dates i saw were september 7 and october 12 / 13.

so im hoping its coming out very soon.

:D
