iPhone 17 Pro When is it realistic to have in-store stock?

Been trying for the last week to find devices ready for pickup at the Apple Store here in London but couldn't. Basically there's only a handful of devices per day and they're literally gone within minutes.

Reason I need the pickup is that I'm subscribing to the iPhone Upgrade Programme, so I need to have it in stock in store.

It's getting a bit exhausting looking for stock every day, so when do you reckon is realistic?

I would expect that by mid October the stock should stabilize. Strangely, here in the US where i live, the stock has been much better than in years past, especially for the Air and the standard Pro in Deep Blue. Silver has been the hardest to get, and the Max has been less available as well, but, if you look daily, you can probably find what you want.

Not sure why it's less there in the UK.

It's just insane, I mean we're talking about main stores like Regent's Street and Covent Garden getting no stock at all for the last 3/4 days

It's the same every year. Give it until a month or so after release.

Apple restocks a few times a week at their stores. Only they know the schedule so keep checking. There was a big restock at the two stores in my area yesterday and I was able to reserve a 17 Pro for my wife for pickup today despite the shipping estimate being 2-3 weeks. Just keep checking.

Read the last 3-5 pages and it’s mostly people sharing tools to track stock and people are posting when new stock is showing.

They have got stock , daily, you just have to check at the right time.

Living in a University community, with an Apple Store near the college it’s always packed with buyers when new iPhones are released.

That is until this year. A very revealing situation that becomes even more interesting considering iPhone Airs seem to be barely selling. They’ve been in stock in the store and available for delivery every day.

Contrast that to iPhone 17, 17 Pro and Pro Max which aren’t even available other than preorders which aren’t delivering until October 27.

The non-Max Pros have been rare for in-store pickup in the Chicago area. There’s a 512 17P in Orange and a 256 in Silver near me.

In the Seattle area, I’ve been checking out of curiosity. Plenty of all 3 colors have come and gone on almost a daily basis since launch day. I picked up a silver non-max Pro yesterday to play around with before the end of my Air’s return window.

Pro Maxes, particularly silver and/or 256GB, are INCREDIBLY challenging to come by this launch. I’m a bit surprised…

But I expect stock will stabilize as the month goes on and supply meets demand.

Edit: And less than an hour after I left this comment my local store got a shipment of 256GB silver Pro Maxes. I guess I manifested it.🤞🏼

Agreed. FYI. I checked Apple online on September 27, 2025. They had 17 pro max in Cosmic Orange, 2 TB for pickup that day at two stores and next day at one store.
