When is the hest time to shop on apple store and do refurbished items worth

Hey there I was wondering what is the best time to order and iPhone from the apple store? I know they make discounts in August, is that correct? Also does anyone has ever tried refurbished tech?

iPhones are only discounted after the new one is released. Previous models will drop $100 in price. When it comes to refurbished iPhones I would be wary unless they are coming directly from Apple. Apple's refurbished iPhones are 'remanufactured'. This means it comes with a new outer casing, new battery and new screen, while internal components are refurbished. These devices go through extensive testing. Refurbished iPhones from carriers are not held to this standard. You could receive someone's returned iPhone that has a knick or scratch on it. All the carriers do is make sure the device works.
