I think they only have our phones using the UMTS network so as not to overwhelm ATT. and it is only a software upgrade to go to HSDPA speeds

UMTS = 250 to 400 mbps
HSDPA = 350 to 900 mbps

or maybee my local area is just slow.

I think we will see a firmware update by August 15 to patch up the buggy software and fix the crashing etc.

I don't think you guys should expect new features. Apple feels that they released the most amazing software that they could. They probably want to give us until September before they dish out any more new features.
