If I haven't subscribed to any iTunes U podcasts, then I can click on the iTunes U tab (for no reason obviously, as there are no podcasts), but as soon as I subscribe to one through the iTunes store and click on the iTunes U tab to see it, iTunes just freezes and the spinning beachball rears its ugly head. I've tried everything - repairing disk permissions, repairing the disk, reinstalling the whole of iTunes and deleting these plists:
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iTunes.plist
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iTunesHelper.plist
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iTunes.eq.plist

I was thinking of reinstalling the whole of Mac OS, but I really REALLY don't want to go through the pain of reinstalling all the apps, rating all the music again etc, and I can't just install from a backup, because presumably that won't make any difference.

I really need help with this one,
Thanks!

PS. I also tried apple's guide of completely uninstalling iTunes (http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1224) and even recreating the iTunes library (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1451).

I've literally spent the whole day trying to fix this -_-
