I'm cheap. I buy refurbs. Want a machine that can do 1440p HiPDI on a 4k external monitor to replace my late 2013 rMBP 13". Wondering if roughly when we can expect Kaby Lake refurbs will hit the refurb store? Thanks!

The late October 2016 MBP refurbs came in April 2017 I think, so call it 6 months. Googling about when I was considering waiting, I remember reading that there's usually up to 9 months between initial launch and refurb, so the 2016 refurbs came sooner than expected.

If I could have waited for the refurb, I would have.

So gonna be 2018 before the Kaby Lakes are gonna hit refurb? For a mere 15% discount, maybe it's not worth the wait then...

I think it will be a while as the returns may be used for parts to repair other units.

Huh?? Returns are stockpiled and repurposed into refurbished units to be sold whenever Apple decides to release to the public.

I'm in Canada and, when I picked up my refurb unit, the tech told me they use the returns for parts if necessary before being put into refurb units. Maybe it's different in other countries?
