When i try to boot to a cd in an old imac it simply ejects the cd and boots up to 10.4

I tried holding down c and changing the startup
:confused::confused::confused:

better question since leopard is both intel and powerpc is what model is the Mac and does it have a DVD drive or a CD drive? Leopard install Disc is a DVD (Dual-layer DVD to be exact)

The imac has a power pc processor
i do not know the model yet but i will get it by monday.
I think it has a dvd drive. but i am not sure if it supports DL

Unfortunately we will need more details - is it a G3 (Easiest way to determine this, is it a fruity color (red, green, blue, pink, translucent white?) or G4 iMac (LCD), is it 867MHz or Faster? How much memory does it have?

Don't worry about the Dual-Layer functionality, almost every dvd drive can read DL discs.

Either way; chances are that either the DVD Drive (if it has one) is bad or the Install Disc Bad.
