I posted this is the other monster thread but it's buried a few pages back already so I can't see it getting answered there...

Does anyone have any experience with Saturday UPS delivery?

Basically I'm trying to figure out when UPS might actually be darkening my doorway.

In the past, I've missed UPS shipments as UPS shows up, rings the doorbell and knocks on the door and pastes the "sorry we missed you" post-it(tm) and leaves, all within about 2 seconds. No, I'm not kidding.

TIA

This is going to be very individual depending on your city, neighborhood and route.

Some have said by 12. Others have said by 5. I'm going to leave my shipment release authorization on the door along with a post-it note telling UPS that I'm home. :)

Go to your Apple order status page and fill out the pre-authorization form telling them what to do with your package if you aren't there and hang it on your door.

I managed the Saturday Delivery Operation for 15 years, you can expect delivery anywhere from about 8:30 to when the driver is done. Most ipads will have been delivered by early afternoon but a few could be delivered during evening hours.

Normally Saturday deliveries are done by part-time drivers so be on the lookout as they don't have the area knowledge of your regular driver.

I can tell you that in large metro areas Saturday delivery (for FedEx too) is a different department then weekly deliveries. It uses different truck/drivers/schedules that the normal weekly deliveries.

EDIT: Looks like redshift1 beat me by a minute. ;)

I unfortunately work from 1:30 to 10:30, and my parents are planning on going to my grandparents house. I am REALLY hoping UPS comes before we leave. In the past they have been late like at 5pm or so. Although recently, they have been coming earlier. Maybe with this special delivery stuff, and few saturday deliveries, it will come early

My UPS guy said that Saturday deliveries run between 8:30 AM and 12:30 PM

My Saturday UPS deliveries are always by 12:30. Regular weekday deliveries are always around 4:30 pm.

I leave a note on the door saying to knock hard enough to make the dog bark. The few extra seconds they spend reading the note gives me time to get to the door. :D
