This is in the UK too.

I'm just trying to work out how much it would cose me to upgrade.

Usually they are £1000, but I got it for £860 with student discount. So if I could sell it for £700 then I could upgrade for under £200, or is £700 far too ambitious do you think?

It is just the base model, with a 320gb HDD as well.
 
As a starting point, you can check Mac2Sell, eBay, or Amazon for prices of similar models, to get an idea of what you may be able to charge. Then adjust your price to account for condition, configuration, remaining AppleCare coverage (if any), etc.
