The site says to wait, since the MacBook Pros have not been updated in quite a while. But I'm wondering since the 17" is a newer unit than the 15" might it be longer for it to be updated, or do the experts here expect all size MacBook Pro screen sizes to be updated simoultaneously?

And, when do we think the new update will be coming?

Thanks for your help.

Buy ten days from now. I'm hopeful that Apple will be updating the MacBook Pro at Photokina. All of the previous predictions didn't make much sense. WWDC was too soon--not enough Meroms to ship MacBook Pro's en masse. The event on the 12th wasn't a professional event. However, the event on the 25th is a developer event, so it makes perfect sense.

Yeah, but you know there are those people who agonize over their product being out of date. Or the "why should I buy old product?" type. Well, I don't give a poop that I'll have a G4. Does it fulfill my needs? yes. Will it stop working when the newest 17" comes out. No.

Oh well.

When to Buy 17" MacBook Pro

Well, I can certainly wait 10 days, but MacWorld SF is a loooog way off.
