Hi all, I've been backpacking around SE Asia for the past 4 months with my GF, and have another two months go to. I'll be getting back home in the states around the 17th of December. I'd like to buy a MacBook for a christmas present (by far the most significantly expensive thing I've EVER bought for anybody for a xmas gift) and want to make sure I get it around the time I get home.

I would just buy the thing now online and let it sit at home until I get there, but I don't want to waste a fifth of the warrenty with the laptop sitting in the box.

If I were to order the MacBook, say mid November, would I have problems getting it by December 17th?

Obviously nobody will know for sure but I figure some of you may be familiar with Apple's supply habbits on new products around the holidays.

I am looking at the 1299 model.

Thanks all!
Kev

I would suspect you could wait until the 17th to order. If you wanted to play it safe, probably early December.

I'm not expecting great supply issues.
