When to order iPod touch for xmas?

I'm going to order an iPod touch and need it for christmas. For reasons, i cant order it just yet but when do you think the latest would be that i can place an order through Apple to recieve it in time? I'm just not sure on how backed up they get during the holidays.

Apple usually ramps up the production during the holiday season, so IIRC there aren't usually a lot of delays around Christmas. But I still would recommend buying it at least 10 days earlier. Just so you can be sure to receive it on time and get it wrapped and whatnot. If you choose personal engraving it might take a bit longer.
