I think I have the same thing, but its on a black Macbook. I always figured it was from the keyboard touching the display. Never thought about the apple logo burning through. The darn thing is so old, I never worried about it.

I had this exact same thing happen.
When using it for a long time the logo would get hot and then if the screen went black (say if I was watching a dvd) I could see clearly the logo through it.

Apple were happy to replace the screen for me luckily.

That would...suck. Was Apple willing to fix it?

Where is the burning?

Apple will replace it on wednesday a new mbp screen

But i only got it in March so thats not too good if it happened that fast

it is the smudge in the centre of my screen

Well that's a good thing, if Apple replaces it, it usually means it's a defect, not something to constantly worry about. This is the first case I've heard of after all.

I have the same problem but a slightly different shape. I never even thought of the apple burning through.

Wish I could get mine replaced but I think they will charge me as my warranty is out =(
