Got a new Mac Min M4 (base) coming and want to upgrade to 1TB SSD. Have everything but wondering, would it be best to open it up and install the SSD right out of the box - before I fire it up the first time?

Or is this something that I need to get the mini up and running first and THEN install the SSD?

Thanks!!

In case you have a hardware issue (and need to return it), get it running out of the box (skip the iCloud and migration). Once you happy it is working correctly then do the SSD swap and all the steps you need to get it running. I assume do know how to get the Mini to accept the SDD.
