This is for my wife's iPhone 3GS. It is stock, not jailbroken & never intend to jailbreak or do anything like that with it.

Have read about bugs & other problems with the current release of iOS4.

When should we upgrade her 3GS to iOS4? Should we wait until there is another release of iOS4? Or OK to upgrade now?

Thanks in advance!

It's far less buggy than some of the early 2.0 releases so there's no reason to wait, but I'd be more concerned about the battery hit in a 3GS when upgrading to any version of iOS4.

Why worry? If anything my 3GS has better battery life since upgrading to OS4.0.

Yes, some 3GS owners have reported better battery life and some have reported worse. It was worse in my case, but I didn't want to bother with setting up as a new phone and lose some of my data (texts, etc.) in order to correct it.
