My iPad Pro is new and I haven't set any security settings like face recognition, fingerprint, etc. My question is about the meaning of "locked" in the sentence: "iCloud automatically backs up your iPad daily when it's connected to power, locked, and connected to Wi-Fi." Will the daily backup happen if the other 2 criteria are met but there are no security settings (yet)? During the daily backup should the iPad be turned on? or off? Thank you.

If you wake the device and can see the Lock screen (with clock, notifications, widgets, etc) with the little padlock at the top of the screen locked, it's locked.
