I'm trying to find a good history of Photoshop, but remarkably having a hard time doing so.

A little help?

I know I was using some version as early as 1993, but I wasn't version conscious until 4.0 came out in 96 (?).

1990.... blimey..... I can remember using Photoshop 3 in 94 when I started my graphic design course at college...... then I remember when they released Photoshop 4 when I started Uni in 96.... Photoshop 4 was truly crap!!

I've only used pre version 3 on a couple of occasions, and all I can say is that the lack of layer support was very scary..... :p

yeah toss it over here too. thanks. :)

I actually have a copy of 1.0 somewhere. I could mirror it from my website if anyone wants to play. It DOES actually work in 9 if i remember correctly.

and it has quite a few of the same filters and such.

neat history lesson

he he...I have a copy too...somewhere on a backup CD at home...

it works in OS 9...but I do recall it crashing easily... ;)

your version history

this got me thinking; how many versions have you owned? which versions were the biggest improvements IYO?

my first was 4.x, then i waited until 5.5 to upgrade. i bought into 6 and 7 very fast, seeing as by then i was using it for a living.

the jump from 5.5-6 (vectorwas the biggest as far as content is concerned, but my jump from 6-7 allowed me to go from 9.2 to X. that's been big, too.
