How long has it been since Mac Pro was updated? I remember the quad core update but that was only an addition. Do you think they will get updated soon? Like NVidia GPU etc.? How often does Apple update Mac Pro line? Thanks

I suggest reading through these threads:

But as they can be headache inducing, I'll summarize my opinion. In short, it could be any time. There are heavy price cuts comming at the end of July which will likely affect the Mac Pro's competition's prices causing them to react with possibly lower pricing, same pricing with 8 cores instead of 4, newer GPUs, 2GB rather than 1Gb standard. Then there is a new chipset and processors comming "late Q3", and by all accounts new GPUs too that may be PCI-E 2.0 as Stoakley (new workstation platform) supports them and Intel have been showing off "unnamed" GPUs while demonstrating it.

Also check out the Buyer's Guide. There you can see the time between updates.

Updated - When Did This Happen?

It hasn't been updated since it was released. Some members think that it has been because they added an extra build to order option from the online store. But all the other features are the same as they were on the day of announcement.

They must be due for a revamp in the next month.
