When was the latest MacBook Air released?

Hi guys, I'm looking to buy a new air, but don't want to get one if they're about to update.

After looking around online, I still don't know when the latest update was, I found this article written back in April saying it should be June or July, http://www.gottabemobile.com/2014/04/06/iphone-6-samsung-galaxy-note-4-concepts/

So, when was it? And what sort of improvments were there?

There was an update in May with a small 100Mhz CPU speed increase. I think most here would agree that was sort of a holdover update until new Intel chipsets come late this year or early next year that are the new models.

If you need one now, I would just buy one. I don't think anything in the new chipset models will be particularly earth shattering.
