Hi,
I wonder when was the setting icon changed? Was it from iOS 5 to 6? Or from 6.0 to 6.1?

I just noted that yesterday, lol

Thanks
Oliver

I thought it has been the same all this time. How does your settings app look like? Screenshot?

I don't think it has changed..I've been using since iOS 3.0 and it looks the same to me.

Unless you're talking about the spinning gears when doing a Software update? That was new in iOS 6.

google image search is your friend, seeing as most major iOS updates coincide with new phone releases, and since settings is on the default home screen. you can see what they looked like in the major iOS upgrades just by searching for the different models of phones.

the teeth on the cog seemed to take on the more rounded shape with the iphone 5, so iOS 6

Dunno if I call that... 'major'... but yea it changed.

ios 5.1 vs. 6

Really? I think the iOS 5 setting icon looks crude and inappropriate. Like previous poster said, spikes vs cogs...and cogs are more in line with a "settings" app, IMHO.

I might switch back to iOS 6's icon (jailbroken and switched the icon) because I actually do miss the iOS 6 settings app icon.

There seemed to be a lot of icon tweaking around the release of iOS6, including the settings one. Coolest is when downloading an iOS update and the gears turn!!
