On my 2013 MacBook Air, there's a slot on the right hand side for a memory card. I store videos on mine to save space on the internal SSD drive. I didn't see such a slot on the new MacBook Airs, so I presume it no longer is there. When was it dropped and what do you use instead?
Thanks!

2016 across the line. You're stuck with using a plug-in adapter or dock or such.

Rumors are the next update will bring them back.

I believe the SD card slot was removed when Apple released the Retina MacBook Air in 2018.

There are many USB based SD card readers available, for example Apple offers their own USB-C to SD Card Reader. Personally I use Anker's PowerExpand+ 7-in-1 USB C Adapter, which has gigabit ethernet, two USB-A 3.0 (the original style connector) ports, SD, micro-SD and HDMI out.
