Amazon sells their own tablets - they dont want to cut in on their sales. Most sales through Amazon happen directly through them.

Your gift card will work towards it. I also have a giftcard and am hoping to use it. Apple already has the new 13 inch retina macbooks available and the new iPods so I'm hoping the iPad mini will be available soon.
