When will Apple Retail Stores have the MacBook Air in stock?

When will Apple Retail Stores have the MacBook Air in stock? I know it says online ships in 2 to 3 weeks. I wonder if Apple Retail Stores might get them in stock first, like the iPhone. iPhones shipped a week or 2 from the June 29th date, Apple had iPhones in stock to be sold on the 29th of June. Don't know if it's better to order online, or keep calling my Apple Store. Any ideas/advice? Thanks in advance.
