I had responded to an emailed received a day after I purchased the iphone5 from the Apple Store to purchase Applecare+. It was added to my order the following day; this was back on Sept 16th.

I received my iPhone5 today. I have begun using it even. However, the Applecare+ is still shown as "processing" in my order.

Does anyone know when Applecare+ will take effect with my phone? I have never purchased Applecare before so I don't know how it works or what I should expect to receive via email or in the mail. I'd thought I would receive some sort of card bearing some numbers that I would activate in conjunction to the serial number of my phone. But I have also heard people mention it will automatically be added to the phone.

Anyone with experience with Applecare, please chime in.

Did you buy Applecare+ too? Does it still have the "processing" status in your order?

Mine still says processing for AppleCare+.

Here are the facts:

- I got the iPhone on launch day
- I added AppleCare+ a few days after the order (by calling Apple on 9/18)
- Credit Card transaction is still "pending" and has not cleared
- Support Profile still shows no AppleCare (just standard warranty)

Just wondering how long it takes them to process and if anyone has had success calling them up.

At this point I might as well just take it to the Apple Store and buy it in person if this is not going to clear.
 
I got 2 iPhone 5 with Apple Care + , the new iPad too.

+ Black : pre-order online with AppleCare+ , they charged me for phone and applecare+ together. When I got it on 09/21, activated , and AppleCare+ AUTOMATIC added to my phone . Checked in www.apple.com/support

+ White : purchased at store at launch day , phone and AppleCare+ same time, after activated the phone, go home and checked on Apple website, my Applecare+ available together with my phone

+ The new iPad : bought at Bestbuy , bring it home, use around 2 week , call Apple to add AppleCare+ and explain them because no Apple Store around here. They charged me $99 for Applecare+ and another $100 for deposit / security ( i dont know ). After 2 days, $99 gone with Apple and $100 went back to my account. Now my iPad covered with AppleCare+

My AppleCare+ is still processing as well. I asked a Genius when I was in for another issue what to do when it arrives and he said the box comes with code that you will have to call in to Apple to have it fully activated.

It is not automatically added I guess.
