Like many folks here, I’m in desperate need of a new MBP and waiting on Monday’s announcement with bated breath. I’m also sitting on a decent Amazon gift card balance, so I’m wondering when Amazon is likely to make new MBPs available relative to them being up for sale/preorder from Apple.

How does the timing for availability and/or preorders usually work for other retailers?

Thanks!

As soon as pre orders open at Apple usually. I mostly order things from the Spanish Amazon and it's up the same day as pre orders on Apple's website

I'll go out on a limb and guess the answer is, "by next Friday" (the 22nd)...

Now that everything's announced I'm not seeing 2021 MBPs on Amazon yet... I'll keep checking and update here when I see them, but in the meantime if anyone has any insights from previous releases please share. Thanks!

Yeah it's taking a while.. I suppose it's going to be hard to find high configurable models.. I'm still torn between base model vs the 10 core CPU 16GPU.

I don't think Amazon lets you do any configuration. They just offer the base or "standard" models, looking at their offerings for other Macs.

I'm going with 14" model with the 10-core CPU. While I'd love to drop $3,500 on a maxed out processor 64gb of memory, I don't think I'd really get the value out of it seeing as I'm not doing any serious photo/video/audio work.
