It's not going to be sold online through Apple at all.

All indications are that the iPhone will need to be activated at point of purchase, so I am guessing you will only be able to get it in a retail Apple or AT&T store.

Yea you have to get it activated at an ATT store. You can't activate it at home like you could with the original.

You might be able to do it at an apple store, I'm not sure about that though but it would be pretty dumb if you couldn't.

If you can purchase it in the store, it would be a perfect way to avoid having to activate in a store.
