iPad mini When will "pick up at store" be available?

When will we be able to purchase a Mini online to be able to pick up at an Apple store rather than ship? I'd love to be able to do that for Friday because I can't go until later and I don't want to make an extra trip if they run out...

Usually with new products they don't offer store pickups for a few weeks

But you can go on Friday and buy one.

If the iPhone 5 is any indication, the Monday after. iPhone 5 came out on 9/21, was available to do pick up in store 9/24 at 10pm PST, picked mine up at the Georgetown Apple Store on 9/25.
