I don't follow Apple conventions or announcements so I don't know. I think I read around here that it would announced during some sort of convention during the first week of March? I just wanted confirmation on that. That way I can decide on whether or not to get the Pro now or wait.
 
No need for a public announcement. The Apple.com site will just be updated in April to July with new MBP models on the front page for a week or two.

i dont understand why everyone thinks apple will just update a bunch of stuff at once. they dont do that and march will be ipods 3 time to shine. there not going to cram releases together
 
Try and locate Tim Cook's number, call him up and ask him, he's about the only person on the planet that has any clue about the answer to your question.
 
No one ever knows until Apple releases them everything you hear is just speculation. Next time please use the search function and you will find hundreds of threads that ask almost the exact same question.

I think Apple will have an event for the MacBook Pros if there is a redesign. I am wishing for March/April time. But it is a wish, nobody knows
 
The will be no announcements of any new laptops from apple until intel releases the new Ivy Bridge chipset which is projected to be April/May.

You have a little wait on your hands.

The iPad, on the other hand is rumored to be out in a couple to few weeks.
