It's been a while and there is no update for iPhone firmware:confused:

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_2_1 like Mac OS X; en-gb) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8C148 Safari/6533.18.5)

I would assume before the next iPhone arrives in July. Apple have released test versions of iOS 4.3 to developers, which is expected to arrive "soon". It will most likely coincide with the launch of the Verizon iPhone 4.

When it's ready.

And beta 2 is definitely not ready for a GA release.

It's been only 2 months since the last Apple firmware update (Nov 22nd 2010) was the last 4.2.1 update.

Geez, people are so spoiled with Apple firmware updates.

4.3 is out on beta. Which means Apple is going to release another update within the next 1-2 months and it will most likely be the last firmware update for ios 4.xx unless there are security concerns.

As a side note: My Samsung Vibrant was released on July 15th 2010. Samsung/Tmobile finally updated to the new firmware on Jan 21st 2011. That's 6 freaking months in between updates.

So 2 months since iOS4.2.1 isn't very long in the overall scheme of things.

Of by the way my older Blackberry Bold 9000 shipped with OS 4.xx. It finally got the OS 5 update in August 2010, a full 21 months after the original shipping date. It's crazy. But Apple supports their products better than other manufactures.
