I know no one really knows the answer to that, but what some of you may know, is how long after being announced, does it usually take Apple to actually sell their latest MBP?

This will be my first mac and I heard Apple may be announcing a new one on the 22nd. I'm wondering if I should just wait and get that one. If it could be many months afterward that they actually sell them, I may just get what's available now.

Any advice/information is appreciated.

It won't be many months. The very most I could see it being is a week, maybe two.

Usually when they announce new Macs they go on sale the same day.

Good news for you is the event on the 22nd has been confirmed today by Apple, so you'll only have a week to wait to find out (hoping that they don't do a silent upgrade later in the year :( )

Apple hasn't confirmed a Macbook Pro refresh on the 22nd? It's an iPad event.

Actually the invite doesn't say it's an iPad announcement. It just says they have more things to announce. Wouldn't it be hilarious if they updated the remaining Macs to Haswell, announced the release data for Mavericks. various software updates (iLife, iWork, Aperture) but didn't announce any iPad updates?

Understanding is everything ;)

The OP said he 'heard Apple may be announcing.....on the 22nd"

I didn't say in any way that they would announce a MBP refresh (although I hope they do); just that the 22nd has been confirmed as an event and so he would only have a week to wait to see if what he heard was true
