When will we know if Apple will release M5 Pro MacBook Pro this year?

Hi, I know about the saying that if you need it now, buy it. Otherwise, wait as long as you can. Also, a common respond of why not wait for M6, M7, M8, etc. M4 series has limitations on video resolutions as discussed in some threads. I also don't want to buy it now and have the trade-in value reduced if Apple releases M5 Pro MacBook Pro later this year.

Do we need to wait until the end of October or November to know if Apple will release MacBook Pro with M5 Pro?

We will know when the Mac isn't released by 12/31/25, then, it will have been released in 2025

I think Apple usually does not release new MacBook Pro in December.

Yes. Apple have often released new Macs in October/November - they released MBPs in Oct 2023, Oct 2024, Oct 2021 and November 2019.

...and if they don't, you'll then be waiting until January, in case Apple launch it then, like in 2023.
...and then, well, they've launched some Macs in March before...
...and in 2019 they released a MBP in May...
...then it will only be a few months before WWDC where they sometimes launch new Macs
...or sometime over the summer if they're not worth an event...
...by which time October 2026 will be just around the corner.

...plus, you might not like the next MBP, or there may be some manufacturing fault, or it might make the video issues worse.

Unless you are forced to buy because of failure/loss I'd say that the best time to buy is several months after a launch when there's been time for any teething problems to come out & very little chance of a new launch in the next 8 months or so. Make your plans based on when the launches actually happen...

Do I need to wait? No, I'm not in the market for a MBP. Do you need to wait? Only you can determine that.

Do we know if apple is going to release the M5 in 2025? You ask a question that only the people at Apple can answer. Reviewing the guide, we see its marked as caution, and its quite possible that an M5 will be released. Its quite possible we don't see one.

My only suggestion is that you wait a month and see. If you are in need of a laptop, then its really a moot point you need to get one, regardless of what apple does.
