So I had made a similar thread last time for ios 5. Wanted to see if there were any differences.
The poll should be self explanatory.

As soon as I can I will get it.

I did it through mac for IOS 5 but hope to do it through OTA this time.

Keeping my 4S on 5.1.1 until there's an iPhone 5 JB then I'll activate it and jailbreak it.

It's gonna suck having it just sitting there for a month or more.

first world problems.

I installed GM yesterday but battery life sucks. It was much better in beta 3 . I know that GM and official release will be the same build but is it possible to change from GM to Official Release next week ? How would I do that without losing all my data from the phone ? Maybe do you have any other suggestions for the battery life on GM ?

jailbreaking means free stuff yes but it also limits bootrom encryption, addressing encryption, data security and the like. larger attack surface for viruses Trojans etc. im all for devs and their efforts, don't get me wrong, They have driven innovation on the platform too, i just appreciate knowing the security in iOS is fully implemented on the device I use day to day. It's there for a reason IMO

I have GM running on my 4S. Very happy with it. battery life has improved and do not disturb is good, though it needs the flexibilty of a blacklist and contacts in more than one group. if apple would approve the likes of intelliscreen x and infinifolders or work native apps like SMS and email etc to run with the priveleges needed for approval, it would be extreme

Ill probably be playing some video game during the evening before its released..

so.. i dont know. most likely the same evening before i go to bed or in the morning

How did you install GM ? Did you restored from your old backup or did you make a new setup for your phone ? I restored from my beta 3 backup and battery life is really bad right now. Don't know what to do

Already put the GM on all of my devices.

4S battery life is still superb. iPhone 4 feels faster than it did on 5.1.1 as does the 3GS.

iPads still super slick.

If you have battery issues make sure that if you updated from beta that you do a full restore and that you do not restore any backups made during the betas.

Put the GM on the new iPad the other night, distinctly underwhelmed tbh.

I'm keeping my old 4 on a jailbroken ios5 until I get the new iPhone on Friday. Really hope the 5 gets jb'd quickly, I'll really miss Zephyr & Switchy :(, not enough for me to not be excited by a new iPhone though:)

If you have the GM installed, and you click on "Check For Updates" on the 19th, iTunes will tell you that you have the latest version. Sure you could just restore on the 19th using the iTunes streamed version and then restore from backup, but the GM is what the public gets on the 19th so it's a waste of time really.

I didn't upgrade iTunes to 10.7, I stayed with 10.6

Did sync/ backup on 4S running 5.1.1
When it finished I found a copy of the GM and confirmed the file hash in terminal

Option+ update and pointed finder at the .ipsw
Sat back and let it do its thing.

Then did all the 'basics' I mentioned earlier.
