what happens if there's a problem with it and you need to have it serviced or something?

Do you send it back to Amazon?

Would I need to send it back to Apple?

Can I walk into an apple store, ask for advice/repair and not have them look at me funny just because i bought it via Amazon?

Excuse all the questions but Amazon has ok prices, free shipping, and a $299 price for apple care so I'm thinking I may go this route...

any advice and or precautions to take would be most welcome...

thanks...

M

It will be serviced by Apple because all Apple computer products come with a 1-year AppleCare service. They don't really care where you bought it, as long as it is still under AppleCare.

You can, most likely, find AppleCare extension plan cheaper on Ebay.

Pressure, thanks for that info...makes sense...

but the ebay thing, perhaps i'm just a wuss but ebay makes me anxious...too many stories about rip offs...maybe i'm reading too many horror stories lately...i wanted to buy this used camera but the guy wanted me to transfer money to his account...no paypal, and he had no ratings yet and maybe he's honest, more honest than me, and the camera is great but i've got cold feet and didn't buy...

thanks

Remember you can purchase Apple Care anytime before the 1 year warranty expires. You don't have to purchase it at the time you buy your computer. I found mine online for under $200...

Checkout L. A. Computers online. They always have specials on AppleCare. I paid $99.00 plus shipping for AppleCare on my new iMac.

Apple will REPAIR your machine under warranty if it was bought through Amazon, but Apple will not EXCHANGE or REPLACE a machine bought from Amazon (or another reseller), even withing the first 14 days -- you must deal with the seller if you are attempting a return for refund or replacement.
