When you choose quality, over price …

Hello all.

Long story, short.

I bought the Backbone Pro game controller for my 17PM for £170 from Apple.

Solid.

It was then available from Amazon for £130.

Received it today, and the quality isn’t the same. D-Pad feels/sounds “rattly” and cheap, compared to the one from Apple.

I’m sending the Amazon one back.

Question: Do you think it’s worth paying a bit more for quality?

Of course, I’d love to save a quick £40, but I’m not willing to sacrifice quality.

Buy cheap, buy twice. Used to be the way. These days this isn’t exactly true. Prices (especially on Amazon) are very volatile.
When you want to buy a product it can be hard to choose given the wide choice available.
Reviews help to an extent, but are easily faked. I much prefer spending a bit more if it gets me a better (and longer lasting) product. There are just no guarantees.

Excuse my ignorance but what's a 17PM? Struggling to translate that one. 😳 I know it will be obvious when you tell me haha. I only ask because I bought a GameSir controller for my Xbox (wired) and it's f*****g brilliant! Not sure it's relevant though as im not sure what a 17PM is haha.

EDIT: Just realised it's iPhone 🫣 I forgot about the Max phones Im rocking a mini! Also realise now that my suggestion is not relevant. Doh!
