When you shut down and boot up, do you see your User Icon/Image?

When you wake up from sleep, you see your User icon/image above your name, above where you enter your password.

When you boot up from shutting down, do you see this same image as well? For me, I am getting a blank/unassigned silhouette image, and im just wondering if this is normal?

Mine does the same thing with filevault turned on.

that makes sense! thank you. mine is turned on. do you also notice that the trackpad input is a big laggier during this? everything seems to be in 'safe mode' or something is the best way I can describe it. it didn't feel snappy or normal

Yes, also what is a problem for me is the keyboard backlight doesn't work during boot, hard to login in a dark studio. I just let it sleep and use the open lid to turn on feature. If you turn filevault off then all these issues go away.
