I don't use it much other than me having to sync my iPhone 4. I keep getting spinning beach balls almost overtime I click on about anything.

Ideas?

Do you have the iPhone connected all this time?
What I'm thinking is your iPhone keeps syncing with the computer, slowing it down.

I keep my iphone plugged in constantly but it does not sync continuously, only on first connect or when requested. It definitely slows the computer down especially with itunes doing the transcoding to 128kbps. iTunes does crash but this is rare and the slowness isn't significant.

How slow exactly is running like "doo doo"? :D If it's like what I described, I don't think it's anything especially bad. Itunes is just crap.

It's crap on Windows and not Macs though. I've never seen iTunes slow down any of my machines, even my 2006 Macbook Pro.

On the Windows side, I would say iTunes is definitely bad news.
