Whenever I try to download something off cydia it says host unreachable?

Welcome to jailbreak day. There's nothing you or anyone else can do except keep trying and waiting.
 
Servers are overloaded.
You as well as thousands of others try to access, and bam it basically times out.

Just give it like 2 days or keep trying.. you will get it eventually
