iPod touch When's the June Update (2.0) coming out?

What a load of crap! What's the hold up? How could they be calling it the June update for months now and then delay it for a month?
They never called it the June update. He said available in June and that was it. There wasn't a word on it between 6/3 and today.
The software is with no doubt ready right now. They don't want you to have it until the App store is online. They don't want the app store online or iPhones sold until the 11th so that places that sell them can decide how many to order and get them shipped to their stores. They also need training time, as this iPhone doesn't look like it will leave an Apple store without a contract.
By July 11th.
99.99% chance it will be released on July 11th, along with iTunes 7.7 (to accompany the App Store), MobileMe, and the 3G iPhone. Is that what other people are thinking too?

It was never called the June update - Steve Jobs himself said "late June" so at most it's delayed by a week. I think it will be out before the phone ships or maybe the same day.
Check iTunes for a firmware update on July 11th.

That's a good find, but for some reason I think that it's probably a typo. It would be nice, though.
yes, they even posted like that, everything could be changed in any condition. as matter of fact, it's the end of June. so I just guess that it will be released on July 11th. they don't usually rush to release new product in order to reduce error or make more perfectly.
It's official; July 11th. A few days ago they updated their press release of the iPhone 3G to include this little tidbit of text:
"iPhone 2.0 software will be available on July 11 as a free software update via iTunes® 7.7 or later for all iPhone customers." That goes for the iPod touch as well. I'm so frigging excited

Understand that the update is free for iPhone users, and not iPod Touch users. We still have to pay $10.
If it doesn't have have it pre-loaded, then your purchase will be discounted the cost of the upgrade, to offset the difference. At lease that is how they did it with 1.1.3
