Rumors have it that Tuesday the 11th is the next one. Although that would be less than a weeks notice, which is unApple like. So only time will tell.

Apple only announces these a week in advance. If people didn't need to make travel arrangements to attend, they'd provide no notice. There will NOT be any event next Tuesday.

I'm having a guess at mid-February and I think they will announce the iPad 2.

I'm still thinking that if they do have a press event on Tuesday they may unveil the Verison iPhone and the new iPad2, also available on Verision.

Is it possable they are not inviting the press and just plan to release a video feed or a prerecorded presentation?

IMHO that is extremely unlikely. As much as he is a businessman, SJ is also a showman and there is no way he is going to let anything worth talking about go out on a pre-recorded message.

True, but the fact, that gizmodo is not invited, strongly hints at an Apple connection.
