When's the redesign coming?

Hi, when's the Air redesign coming? What I'd like to see:

-The notch goes away
-Smaller screen + bezels slim down so the footprint gets smaller, even if it's ever so slightly
-USB ports on both sides
-New colors
-Reduced weight... 2.2-2.4 lbs would be awesome
-Apple 5G modem option
-New design language - Give it character like an iPhone or iMac


How about you? What do you want in an air?

Making the notch go away versus smaller bezels would mean a new display-related technology that I don’t think Apple has yet. They’re still fighting to get rid of the bezels on the iPhone.

My M2 Air is so light. I barely feel it in my bag.

Now a second generation Apple modem is a nice idea, especially if the capabilities can be updated with new firmware. When Windows laptops had cellular modems, they were limited to the generation of modem that they were originally built with, meaning that you couldn’t put a 4G cellular modem in a laptop that shipped with a 3G modem.

I would expect the M5 or M6 release to be the redesign. It seems that the Pro redesign is coming with the M6, so I'd expect the M5 to be the Air redesign. I don't think Apple would do both at the same time.

My guess is that the C1/C2 will go to the Pro first, and not come to the Air until M7.

M7 or M8. MacBook Pro is getting redesigned with M6 next year apparently.

I suspect we're still 2/3 years away from a redesign of the Air based on how Apple do things.
