Was just in the Clarendon VA store, got there at 1:00 with a friend to pick up a IP4, was on the priority list for about a week. There was a line of people waiting to pick theirs up, about 10 deep.

Unlike you, those who want to return their phones do not have to wait in line.

Talked to someone who went into a corporate store today to look at the Captivate and they asked one of the sales people about the iPhone 4 and they were told the rate of return has increased fairly significantly over the weekend.

Makes sense. I imagine some people were waiting to hear something from Apple before deciding to keep or return their phone.

Yeah.....plus we're hitting the end of the 30 day return window. I'd imagine there will be a somewhat steady flow of these things going back this week.

After that the story should start to die out.

They'll just rebuy it and renew their 30 day return window.

Firstly, read the post. I was not in line, I was there with a friend, he was in line. There were a lot of people walking out with phones and in line, that is the point. I would imagine based on the doom and gloom the opposite would be true.

For the record the friend tried numerous times to replicate and could not. That was in and out of the store. For the record the wait list of 32 is about 250 deep as of today at the store.

If indeed it is true (please, do not think I'm implying that you are lying here! I truly am not!)... so if those people with non-functioning phones return them, this will be good for all of us, iPhone users, even those who are satisfied with their device.
When the return rates go up, Apple will take it seriously and maybe come up with a real fix for the antenna. Besides, there will be a chance that this story will finally die out.

I only have a few days left to return. My question is, can I return and purchase the phone again? get another 30 days to return???

You could, but that would put you in the douche catagory
Also, how long would it take them to reset your upgrade date?
